After two weeks I finally have the motivation to write a bit about my fail. ;-) In the last post I’ve told about my application for an Animation school. Two weeks ago I had the admission day. Sadly enough I didn’t even came through the first selection. Since they don’t give any feedback, I’ve no idea what has gone wrong.

But whatever, life goes on isn’t? Today, actually few minutes ago, I’ve signed me up for ‘Game Development’ Why game development? First of all it just looks fun to me. I like creating things. It’s a bit less creative than animation, but on the other hand creativity is something you can add yourself.

So I can change this blog title from ‘Art stuff of ArcoMul’ to ‘Code stuff of ArcoMul’

I still keeping making art! Maybe something like ‘Just stuff of ArcoMul’, ’All stuff of ArcoMul’, ’Good stuff of ArcoMul’, well I’ll find out when I am going to talk nerdy here. ’5tuff 0f 4rc0Mu1’

No art post this time. Last few weeks and days I’ve not been busy with making art. Atleast, not the art I can show to you. At the moment I’m making my ‘admission authorization’ for the school I want to join. (if you write it like that) So I am making art, but can’t show it here, otherwise other participant come and steal my idea’s and things. 

For the same admission authorization I’ve to update my portfolio. So that’s asking some code work and, to resize all artwork I’ve made to 225x120. *sights* But when I’m ready you can play Youtube video’s and all the artwork which I’ve mentioned in a blogpost get a link to that blogpost, so people can read some extra information.

Also I joined the ‘real developer team’ of Planeshift few weeks ago. So now, since a year, I’m really a Planeshift developer. Meanwhile I’m still busy with a level, which - I hope - won’t take very long to finish. Also because I’ve got much more time when the admission authorization is passed. When the level is finished I’ll show everything here of course.

And I’m playing keyboard since couple of weeks. Every week I’ve a lesson of 30 minuts, and rest of the week I have to practise and things. Here are two recordings I did while practising, they are funny, or acctually painful. So watch your steps.

I did made this picture with “Never use dubstep as alarm” in mind, because of the bass bomb in dubstep. But while I was drawing, I realized that it would be cool to leave it blank. So fill in whatever you want.

This is the family Oetknut, it’s a sort of wannabe character design. I also wrote some background-story about this family. But that piece of text is in dutch, sorry about that. But I hadn’t the motivation to write in English.

I’ve made posters few times for my sport club. When there is a party or another event. This time my sport club celebrates his 50 years anniversary. So that’s a some bigger party. Normally the posters aren’t that special I should share them here. But this time they’re quitte nice. (In my opinion of course)

Next picture I made as poster for “the big party, for the real adults”

And here is another one I made for the children. They have there own gala.

Both pictures doesn’t really have the same style. That’s because I had less time for the second one. Where the first one is hand drawn, and colored with hand, the second one is made of simple shapes with gradients.

Golem, it’s a bit standard. Green guy, skinny and weird. Standard colors: green blue and red. And also the goat feets aren’t very special. But at the end I liked the drawing. Concept art stylo.
